Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do is about more than learning to punch and kick.  It's about learning self-discipline,
respect for self and others, and learning leadership skills.  Here are some of the letters that parents have
written when their chilren have displayed Black Belt Attitude.
I would like to share with you the inspiring way Ian has recently displayed a black belt attitude.

A few weeks ago, I heard Ian asking Mr. Pruett if he could have a CD with the daily dozen that he does in class.  He
was so enthusiastic about practicing that we bought it.  It has now been over two weeks, and Ian has done the daily
dozen each day since.  Furthermore, he leads by example, encouraging all of us to do it with him.  Although very
serious about it, he smiles in a pleasant, positive way, helps his mom, dad and even his 4-year-old sister to learn it
properly with him.  After the daily dozen, he then practicis he gold belt basics.

Ian has displayed a black belt attitude with commitment, enthusiasm, and desire to improve.

Sincerely,
Proud Dad and Mom, Dennis and Annaleise Hall
Dear Sir,
Last Monday, Pranav's school bus arrived late so he was late for the class.  In haste, he changed his clothes and
soon after he reached the class, without anyone telling him, he bowed, performed " Kyu-Yool"(Discipline), and
waited for the teacher's permission to join the class.  This type of leadership quality and black belt attitude
deserves to be noticed and I am proud of him.

Sincerely,
Proud Parent's of Pradhan
To the staff at Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do,
Since Gus and joined Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do he has made great strides in keeping a positive attitude and is
trying his best to fulfill the "black belt" way of life.  He has incorporated "yes ma'am" and "yes sir" into his daily
conversation, he is exercising self-control on a regular basis both at home and in school.  Gus is showing the
ability to bounce back from difficult situations, criticism and disappointment.  He has been helpful around the
house, by bringing in the trash chans, vacuuming and picking up after himself.

Overall, Gus is showing greater respect for others and has approached his time at Tae Kwon Do with enthusiasm.
We believe he has earned his black stripe.

We, as his parents, appreciate the efforts put forth by all of the Instructors.

Kerry and Drew Daniels

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pruett and Mr. Kasper,

Andrew has really grown a lot since being in TKD.  He has learned better control over his body and his actions and
has improved his attitude towards situations which in the past might upset him.  He has demonstrated great
flexibility and a desire to learn the proper way to do kicks and stances.  He has started saying Yes Ma'am and No
Ma'am and continues to want to do his best every day.

I am very proud of Andrew and all of his accomplishments he has made in TKD.  As a family we want to say
"Thank You" to everyone and wish them all the best.

Pam Eckert.

Dear Mr.  Pruett,
As Allie informed you the previous week, she made all A's on her first "graded" report card this year.  She is very
proud of herself, as are we.  We are submitting this academic accomplishment as her black stripe material.  Allie
has worked hard in school this year and is also working at TKD again with more enthusiasm since switching to
the more challenging class.  She's even  working out at home again, which means that dad gets a workout too!

We would award you a black stripe too for all you do for your students.  We like the way you mentor and challenge
Allie in a positive manner.  You are an excellent teacher and leader.

See you in class,
Margaret & Kevin McLellan

Dear Mr. Pruett,
Mom should get a black stripe because she takes time out of her day to get a work out.  One more thing, I am
proud of her.

From,
A very proud 8-year-old daughter of a student
Dear Mr. Pruett,
David has made great effort to earn his black stripe for this belt level.  he has made purposeful effort in making
needed changes in his behavior.  He is faithful in completing his daily chores.  He is working hard in school and
surpassing all educational goals that have been set.  He has intentionally changed for the better in his obedience
and respect for authority.

We are proud of the boy that he is becoming, and look forward to even more progress as the days go by.  Thank
you for your help in accomplishing the training of good behavior.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Sanchez

Elaine has demonstrated a "can do" attitude at home by prioritizing her school work to do that first when she comes
home from school prior to doing other things of less importance.  This year her performance in class has improved
and she has come home with a very good first Six Weeks report card.  Her school performance is in the "A" and "B"
Please consider her for the black stripe in keeping with your class requirements.

Thank you for instilling a positive attitude in your classroom environment.  This has already been a positive factor
in Elaine's day-to-day activities, even though she has only been in your Tae Kwon Do class a short Period of time.

Sincerely,
Raul Gonzales
