| Dates: Monday, March 15th, through Thursday, March 18th Time: 9A.M. to 1P.M. Where: Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do, 16333 Great Oaks Dr, Suite 115, Round Rock, TX 78681, (512) 238-0100 Activities: Martial arts games and drills are the focus of our action packed Camp. Be sure your participant wears sturdy but comfortable play clothes. These activities include, but are not limited to: running, jumping, punching (not each other), and kicking (again, not each other). We will watch family friendly cartoons during our daily lunch break. Some school exclusive activities: Board Breaking, Capture the Castle Flag, Simon Says Whack-a-mole, Noodle Limbo, Samurai Skills Challenge, Ultimate Obstacle Course, Noodle-Fencing (yes, that is fun-filled sword fighting with those foam floaty-things!), Martial Arts Bingo, Samurai Dodgeball (don't worry, it's not the welt inducing, emotionally-scarring activity we were subjected to as children!), Keep Your Block Up, Knock Your Block Off, Team Stack, Crazy Ball... and many, many more. All activities will take place in the play-friendly confines of the school. Gametime: It is very important that your participant(s) bring a family friendly game(s) and/or toy(s) to play with during our "Gametime" portion of the day. During this time, usually right after lunch, the participants bring their toys and games onto the mat and play together, supervised of course. Handheld video game consoles (DS, PSP, Gameboy, etc...) are acceptable, please just be sure that the games your participant brings are family- friendly. Who’s Eligible: Children in grades K and up. Summer Camp coordinator, Mr. Kasper, reserves the right to remove any participant from summer camp; before or during the camp. The family of any student regrettably excluded from camp by Mr. Kasper will receive a pro-rated refund of their tuition. What About Meals: Students are to bring sack lunches (a fridge is available), we will eat at the school daily at 10:30. Medications: Absolutely no medications, whether they be prescription or over the counter, shall be administered by any staff member of Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do. Parents should take steps to administer any medication(s) that may be needed by a student. Pickup and Dropoff: Parents are to pickup and drop off their children each day for camp at the Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do location Cost: $75.00 per Participant. The full tuition amount is due NO LATER THAN Thursday, March 11th. Payment made be made by cash or check (payable to: Michael Kasper). NO REFUNDS will be given for any reasons other than removal by Mr. Kasper as explained in the "Who's Eligible" section above, or a canceled Camp as explained in "Camp Attendance Minimum" below. Meet the Instructor: Michael Kasper is a full-time Instructor at Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do. Relevant to this camp; Mr. Kasper has also worked as a public school classroom supervisor, and has been American Red Cross certified in CPR (adult and child) and First Aid several times. Camp Attendance Minimum: If fewer than 6 students are signed up for camp it will, unfortunately, be canceled. Any deposits or tuition payments made for a canceled session will be refunded in full. Discipline: Part of the mission of Kickin' It Spring Break Day Camp is to enable each student to work and play co-operatively and respectfully in a group setting. To this effect if a student is unable to be respectful, they will be asked to adjust their behavior. If the student is still unable to be respectful; they may be asked, in a respectful and encouraging manner, to sit in the parent viewing room briefly before re-joining the group. Please note that the reason for these conditions is a constructive one. One of the greatest benefits of a martial arts education is the following simple realization: true self-esteem and self-confidence are most abundantly nurtured by the following parents... respect for others and self-discipline. We, of course, contextualize this realization with the knowledge that our Campers are very young; this is why we try to make any correction fun and encouraging. |
